42 Maslak Art!SPACE is proud to host Mixer as the first gallery in the upcoming series of ‘Gallery Spotlight’ events. ‘Shuffle’, being the first of the series at Art!SPACE, is an exhibition of artists that are promising, up and coming, as well as reflecting the dynamic structure of Mixer. The show will be on view between the dates 5 November – 20 December.

The lower floor gallery of 42 Maslak Art!SPACE will be hosting works by Berkay Buğdanoğlu, who has mastered his technique with rust and paint on metal boards, creates abstract platforms that transform into landscapes, Gülşah Bayraktar, meticulously depicts nostalgic family portraits on small wooden surfaces, Joachim Romain, merges tempting street cliches with iconic imagery in his photographs and Kürşat Bayhan, creates a series of photographs with the water bottles that the Yezidis use while on the run from ISIS, symbolized as life sources. The ground floor of the exhibition space will be hosting Sultan Burcu Demir’s series of portraits, entitled ‘Philosophers’, that are made of paper cuts glued together, Anna Bak’s collages where she brings together old photographs with drawings, and Elif Özen’s photorealistic views depicted with ink and oil paint on paper, creating lonesome sceneries. Armando Rabadán’s abstract painted pixels on canvas, Egemen Tuncer’s digitally manipulated photographs, Güneş Bulut Yılmaz’s intermittent drawings of plants and human portraits, and Julie Nymann’s video work that examines the relations of gestures and bodies in an off-routine manner.
