Gallery Nev Istanbul is pleased to present “Heavy“, Canan Tolon’s 10th solo exhibition with Gallery Nev and first exhibition in Istanbul after a four-year break.

​This exhibition is the reflective of Canan Tolon’s experience of working with different techniques and embodies Tolon’s various periods over 25 years. Featuring four new large-scale paintings, Tolon uses heavy equipment and materials to form the motives on the canvases. The artist experiments with the dualism of heaviness, whether it is inflicted through escapism or burdened through the lightness of being.
