Dirimart is proud to present Peter Zimmermann’s third solo show titled CMYK in Istanbul. The show can be visited from December 24, 2015 through January 30, 2016.

In his latest body of work, Zimmermann works with the method of color separation, which the title of the exhibition CMYK adopts. CMYK, refers to four inks, cyan, magenta, yellow and key(black) used in color printing. This color model works by partially or entirely masking colors ona lighter, such as white, background where the ink is used to subtract the brightness from the base in order to prevent reflection. As if duplicating his process of alienating context throughthe choice of digitally disrupted images, the artist, by referencing the subtractive color model, adds another level of removal from the original pictorial sources. Zimmermann, by reducing the primary colors from their original colors, directs the viewer for a new way of translation andinterpretation in his recent paintings.
