Operation Room hosts Burcu Yağcıoğlu & Ülgen Semerci between 08 June - 01 August 2015.

​The fog exuding on the gallery's floor, during In Fog by Burcu Yağcıoğlu and Ülgen Semerci, embodies both the loss of ground created by the irrevocable annihilation we brought on the nature and the artists' resistance against precise interpretations, classifications and divisions, which sets the tone of the exhibition. There is something about this representation of space that improves on the city, Lefebvre's point of origin. Richard Sennett had expressed that the theoretical frame limited by urban space, as suggested by Lefebvre, would be inadequate to understand the contemporary dynamics which demand a confrontation with the global consequences of the climate change and the destruction of natural habitats. Expanding its spatial origins all the way to the melting glaciers in Iceland, In Fog invites the viewer to discover the inadequacy referred to by Sennett. The apocalyptic insight accompanying the viewer's experience during the exhibition In Fog also brings along a bleak hope towards reversing the deteriorating socio-ecological balance. Through images bred from visual subconscious, borders that blur inside the permeating, advancing fog and the narratives it's based on, In Fog creates a representation of space that invites a rethinking of hope and desolation, an aesthetic circulatory system.
