artSümer hosts a series of installations created by designer Pınar Akkurt for Karaköy Restaurant’s corner window on a regular basis since 2011.

Akkurt began these installations with the idea that they should respresent the essence of the restaurant which is the kitchen, so as to create a repeatable and relevant context. The installations seem totally unaffected by the restrictions that brought on by this decision and Akkurt seems quite comfortable in that scarcely populated and thus largely undefined area between design and art. Moreover, the installations in all their consistency, couldn’t be more farther away from repetition.
